Office buildings, malls, and shopping complexes – all account for commercial buildings. Generally speaking, the original owners of these commercial buildings do not occupy them. They tend to rent them out to earn a decent amount of money per month; the responsibility of maintaining the building remains with the landlord. So, it is natural that the landlords are always faced with the upkeep issues of their buildings; they must ensure that their buildings are convenient and comfortable to use for the respective tenants. In short, they require commercial building maintenance.
How to maintain your commercial building at low cost
The first step towards getting your building run at a lower maintenance cost is to replace all the bulbs with energy star qualified bulbs. Energy saving bulbs consumes 75 percent less energy than the regular incandescent bulbs. Energy saving bulbs also run up to ten times longer. This simple step alone could bring down your electricity bills by 25 percent!
If you have a moderately small building, you can also replace the old 3.5 gallon toilets with the new 1.7 gallon ones. This can drastically reduce your water bill. Toilet flushing uses the most quantity of water in your building and implementing this will not only help you save water, but also generate less sewage. Thus, your sewage cleaning costs would be reduced. Alternatively, you can look out for other options like dual-flush, composting toilets and waterless urinals.
